Kate joined the business in 2007 and brought with her a passion for creating transport infrastructure and project management. Her desire for continuous professional development and improvement has underpinned her career, and provides her with opportunities with work with leading clients such VicRoads and the Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport and Resources, to name a few.
Kate sources inspiration from people in her life that are close, including her sister Caroline, who she characterises as the eternal optimist. Kate drew on that inspiration with the Tulla-Sydney Alliance project, stating, ‘It was good project to grow my skills and at times, test me. She served as the Design Manager and Technical Design Manager for the $2.2 billion project from 2009 to 2013. Her involvement was as broad as it was challenging but she maintains, ‘The emotional attachment will always make it a signature project for me. My passion is developing transport infrastructure, so what better feeling is there than watching four years of blood, sweat and tears come to life, and actually make a difference to people’s lives?’
Another career achievement was being selected for the 2017 Roads Australia Fellowship Program.
Parting words from Kate are simple and speak volumes, ‘Everything is going to be okay. Remember, life is a marathon not a sprint.’
