Developer World Class Land has engaged us to provide structural and civil engineering services for the project.

The elegant 91-level glass tower, which will rise to 274m AHD* (the maximum height allowed in Brisbane), will add a striking focal point to the city’s evolving skyline.

According to Luke Taylor, WSP’s Director for Property Structures in Queensland, “30 Albert Street is an iconic building that will help create a vibrant city centre where people want to live, work and shop. By leveraging our world-class engineering skills and in-depth knowledge of current design standards, we will deliver a resilient structure that’s optimised for efficiency.”

With spectacular views over the Botanical gardens to the east, Kangaroo Point to the north and Mount Coottha to the west, the development consists of 857 residential apartments, seven basement levels, and a podium level with commercial and retail spaces. There will be a range of indoor and outdoor shared recreation spaces including elevated gardens that will contribute to the creation of a vertical community.

Wayne Bretherton, Director of Property and Buildings in ANZ welcomed the announcement of our appointment, saying, “WSP is proud to be involved in this transformative project, which will contribute to the urban renewal of Brisbane’s CBD. For the past two decades, we have been working on range of developments that are changing the city’s river and skyline, and revitalising key areas. These include 443 Queen Street, 1 William St, 111 Eagle St, Brisbane Quarter, GOMA, State Library, Queens Wharf, 801 Ann St, and 852 Ann St.

“Focused on the building’s core, our Structural and Civic Engineering teams will collaborate closely with architect Blight Rayner and development/project manager PDS Group to deliver a structure that is safe, sustainable and cost-effective.”
