Held in Canberra on 27 and 28 March, the event attracted more than 500 attendees. As Australia’s first large-scale whole of public sector improvement-focused gathering, the Public Sector Show 2018 explored key themes including the transformation of government service delivery through improvements in people, processes and technologies.
Denise’s keynote ‘Achieving operational excellence across the US Government through transforming digital, ICT, HR, shared services and financial performance’ highlighted her experiences in transforming shared administrative services across the United States (US) Government through the Technology Transformation Services and the GSA’s other modernisation initiatives. She also shared lessons learned in working towards modernising methodologies and technologies to improve the accessibility, efficiency and effectiveness of the US Government.
Commenting on her involvement in the conference, Denise said, “It has been a pleasure being involved in this event and providing Australian public servants with some tangible and practical strategies to improve the delivery, cost-efficiency and quality of government services.”
In her role at WSP, Denise is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of the firm’s strategy and long-range planning in the USA. She works closely with senior professionals to lead innovation and support strategic growth.
During her career, Denise also held various leadership positions at the federal and local government levels. She served as administrator for the the GSA from March 2015 to January 2017, leading a workforce of 12,000 full-time employees with responsibility for a $27 billion budget that supported the agency’s public buildings service, federal acquisition service and technology services programs.
