Attendees included key members of the Asia Pacific (APAC) aviation, government, homeland security, property development, health, university and corrections sectors.
Drawing on 13 years of experience in improving the security, risk and resilience posture of organisations across the APAC and Middle East regions, Dr Sahba covered a range of topics relating to CCTV and security risk management. He unpacked key concerns and approaches for managing risk in a changing environment, undertook practical exercises and used real-world application to demonstrate some of the increased security challenges and emerging threats currently being faced in the industry.
A key topic was the cyber security of video surveillance networks. Dr Sahba said, “IP video devices and enabling network infrastructure must remain resilient to threat vectors that are targeting the rapidly expanding Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).”
Artificial intelligence (AI) in video analytics was also discussed at length. Dr Sahba added, “The advancement in AI algorithms, coupled with the rise in computing power is making tools such as unusual behaviour recognition, emotion recognition and appearance video search major technology pieces in smart buildings – not only for safety and security, but also to understand and monitor building occupant activity patterns and trends.
“It was a great opportunity to discuss these key issues with some of the APAC region’s market leaders.”
