Starting with the firm in 2016, Henry’s breadth of experience and list of achievements after only five years in the industry was highly regarded. Henry has already garnered experience across the tendering and delivery phases on major projects in the water and transport sectors and has excelled with his technical knowledge.
Currently working out of the project office for the Parramatta Light Rail in Sydney’s west, Henry says, “Being recognised by my peers is an awesome achievement and one that I’m extremely proud of. The recognition will further my reputation as someone who is dedicated to the profession and the people I work with.”
Having displayed a keen interest in leadership and team dynamics throughout his burgeoning career, Henry has been active in pursuing extracurricular activities beyond his role. At 25, Henry became the youngest Chartered Engineer at WSP and actively supports and encourages other young professionals through the chartered process.
In addition, he currently holds a position on the Pathways’ Taskforce. The team is undertaking a yearlong project to increase engagement with Indigenous reconciliation in the company and acknowledge traditional cultures in our service offerings to clients. He adds, “Being involved in this side project has enabled me to learn about the benefits of cultural recognition, and it’s something I have become quite passionate about. And, by working in multiple teams on major projects like the Parramatta Light Rail, I’ve been able to see how different leadership styles impact the dynamics of a project team. These experiences are all valuable insights and will help shape the next steps in my career.”
Our Pathways team would also like to recognise Alex Moody an Environmental Scientist in our Contaminated Land Management (CLM) team in Canberra who came runner-up.
In 2018, Alex managed to secure a new key client for the Canberra team. By cross-selling other WSP capabilities, Alex fostered an outstanding level of client service. He says, “I’m passionate about helping our clients solve their complex problems. By providing them with the gold standard in service, we are helping them realise their goals all the while making a tangible difference to our community.”
Alex has also helped to grow the CLM team in Canberra by using his network to provide opportunities to multiple new graduates. Alex’s enthusiasm and will to ‘get the job done’ were also seen as highly commendable attributes.
