Next week in Perth, 10 WSP speakers from around the country will make their mark on the discussion around geotechnical best practice at the 13th Australia New Zealand Conference on Geomechanics in Perth.
The event features a strong line-up of speakers, including Paul Hewitt and Sudar Aryal, WSP’s Geotechnics Technical Executives, who will be separately presenting on Woolgoolga to Ballina Pacific Highway Upgrade, providing insight into the application of soft ground instrumentation and the role of the geotechnical engineer in the Delivery Partners’ teams.
Other speakers include Robert Kingsland, Geotechnics Technical Executive, who will take the stage to share his insights on what to do when settlement exceeds expectations, using a case study of the Hunter Expressway.
Stuart Ellis, WA Chair of the Australian Geomechanics Society and WSP Team Manager, Geotechnics & Tunnels says, “This year’s conference offers a diverse range of themes including foundations and retaining structure, ground improvement and offshore and nearshore geotechnics.
“It is a chance to discuss lessons learned in the broader geomechanics community, which will keep driving new innovations and practices forward.
“More importantly, it is a great opportunity to collaborate with industry thought leaders, showcase our extensive knowledge and explore emerging directions in geotechnics.”
