The award recognises excellence in project management and leadership in the provision of integrated services for the management of large transportation infrastructure programs. It was judged by an international panel of professionals from the IRF’s academic members, as well as independent subject matter specialists.
Pacific Complete, a joint venture between Laing O'Rourke and WSP, partnered with Transport for NSW (TfNSW) to deliver the 129-kilometre section between Glenugie and Ballina. The team comprised of specialists in program, construction, and design management, who, in turn, managed the specialist contractors delivering the infrastructure.
Despite major events such as bushfires, flood events and the COVID-19 pandemic the project team honoured the commitment to the Australian and NSW governments by opening the final link of the Pacific Highway to traffic in 2020.
