Octopus Australia has acquired Dulacca Wind Farm from the RES Group, the world’s largest independent renewable energy company. Once active, the wind farm – which is located in the Western Downs Region – will contribute to the Queensland Government’s target of 50% renewable energy by 2030 and provide generation diversity to the electricity network.
Combining multi-disciplinary technical capability with project and industry experience, WSP supported Octopus Investments with technical due diligence in the acquisition phase. This included review of key contracts, assessment for scope gaps, commentary on potential risk mitigation, technology review of the proposed wind turbines and review of technical aspects relating to the project.
Helping achieve renewable energy targets
Building on prior work completed in the advisory stages, WSP’s role as OE will see us combining our engineering expertise and wind farm construction experience to provide design review, site inspections and technical support, while acting to reduce the overall risk in delivery of the 43 4.2MW wind turbine generators.

Due to be completed in May 2023, the Dulacca Wind Farm will contribute to helping Queensland reach its renewable energy targets. It also represents a significant contribution to the decarbonisation of power in Australia.
