He joins the firm with 37 years’ experience during which he has managed large complex EPCM projects and studies for major global mining companies.
Focused on equipping our Mining & Energy clients and WSP teams with the skills and knowledge to better deliver across all phases of our projects and studies, Tom will bring a focus in risk based and innovative Future Ready solutions.
Tom specialises in project and study management, engineering management, strategic execution planning and development, early work, commissioning and risk management. For the past 25 years he has been involved in the mining, material handling and processing industries covering studies, detail design and EPCM projects for FMG BHP. BMA, Rio Tinto, Wesfarmers in the coal, copper, nickel and cobalt industries.
He recently managed the BHP Olympic Dam $6B Underground Mine Expansion selection phase. Previous to this, he was the EPCM Study and Project Manager for the Rio Tinto $700M Boyne Smelter Upgrade and new Carbon Bake Furnace projects.
Commenting on where he sees growth and opportunities Tom says, “The Mining and Energy industries are facing major challenges on how to address global warming. WSP is well positioned to assist with climate resiliency and transition strategies to net zero.”
