This is just one plank of the growth and opportunities on Michael Thompson’s mind as he steps into the role of National Airport Technical Executive in our Aviation team. He brings with him a skill set that has focused on airport design, engineering and development for more than 40 years.
Deepening our understanding of client needs
“In terms of aviation projects and airport specific opportunities, we envisage strong, ongoing growth in major civil airports in Australia for the next decade at least,” Michael says.
Reporting to Mark Boone, Aviation Lead, Michael’s key responsibilities are to assist our aviation group to secure ongoing airport project work– in and out of the fence – and look for ways to add even more value to our solutions to benefit our clients.
He adds, “My objectives are to grow and deepen our aviation relationships in our region of the world, to ensure we understand our clients' drivers and the end consumers requirements.”
“The other thing I'm really looking forward to, is the opportunity to mentor and share my knowledge with WSP’s incredibly bright and talented young aviation team and the participation within this group to achieve major airport project work for us.
“With our specifically skilled personnel, I believe WSP will continue to grow and become a leading force in aviation infrastructure design and development, in this country and throughout the Asia Pacific region.”
