Lucy Casacia acts as a catalyst and driver for enhancing people’s lives using innovative technology to create smart buildings, transportation, resiliency and energy systems through Human-centred design. As an invited speaker to various conferences, she shares practical insights about the strategic use of Urban Technologies to create better outcomes for people, the planet and our next generation. Lucy has worked with the C-Level to deliver technology base solutions for cities, mining, industrial plants, utilities, provincial governments in small scale through multi-billion-dollar projects creating trusted relationships along the way. Through her experience gained working at Fortune 500 companies (WSP, Siemens, Dofasco Steel, BHP Billiton) and entrepreneurial companies, Lucy has held C-Level roles, improved P/L’s, managed delivery of engineering projects and applies skills including design thinking to deliver projects to owners, users, employees, stakeholders and shareholders.
Tamara Streefland - Circular Cities Program Lead at Metabolic | email
Tamara Streefland leads Metabolic’s Cities Program, connecting urban professionals around the world with high-impact circular economy strategies. She has worked on a wide range of urban resilience projects, focused on the construction sector, healthy and equitable urban ecosystems, the freight sector, waste systems, and renewable energy, in cities including Amsterdam, Warsaw, and New York City. Her background as an earth scientist, coupled with experience in collaborative design and systems thinking, allows her to integrate knowledge on ecological impacts with creative solutions that engage novel technologies and are sensitive to social issues. She also enjoys teaching on the topic of complex contemporary urban challenges.

Joost graduated as an engineer from the Faculty of Architecture at Delft University of Technology in 1996. He started his career at Benthem Crouwel Architects in 1997 and became a partner at the office in 2005. He is a member of the Royal Institute of Dutch Architects (BNA) and has been involved with extraordinary projects such as the Anne Frank House, Stedelijk Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, station Amsterdam Central and the North/South metro line in Amsterdam.
Juhee Oh - Director, Sustainability & Energy at WSP in Canada | email
Juhee’s background is in architecture and urban planning and has worked on Sustainability and Energy projects with various design teams and municipalities for the past 15 years. Prior to joining the team in 2009, her previous work experience includes working throughout Toronto, Vancouver, and New York City at various firms such as Libeskind Studio, Urban Strategies Inc., and Unit A Architecture. Since joining WSP, Juhee has been involved with over 70 sustainability projects of various types. She has project experience across the full spectrum of building life cycle – from urban planning to building design and operation. Juhee is currently working on carbon neutral developments, policies and frameworks at various scales bridging the conversation between the government, designers, operators and other key stakeholders. This includes projects such as Canada Post Carbon Neutral National Portfolio Plan, City of Toronto Emissions Reduction Policy Strategy for Existing Buildings, and South Niagara Hospital Environmental Plan. Juhee is currently serving as the Sustainability Specialist for the City of Toronto Design Review Panel.
Mark Driscoll - Head of transport buildings at WSP | email
Mark is currently the National Head of Transport Buildings for WSP Canada. He is one of the main representatives developing the firm’s interest and capacity in Transit-Oriented-Developments (TODs) and -Communities (TOCs). These unite WSP’s diverse design experience and capacity in building, transportation and other disciplines, with his own commitment to delivering complex projects that simultaneously and successfully answer to a large range of requirements and their stakeholders.
Mark’s career, spanning over 30 years since graduating from the University of Waterloo School of Architecture, has been grounded in this kind of integrated, connected, and constantly-responsive design work. He has earned the lasting respect of design peers, builders, developers and owners leading the delivery of some of the most complex projects in Canada and around the globe. Mark has been fortunate to be involved in every scale of building, from the smallest facility to the largest transformative multi-use developments, in settings ranging from extremely remote to the densest urban sites, with every traditional and alternative delivery model, and their hybrids
