Human and environmental risk assessments are endorsed by federal and provincial regulatory agencies across Canada. There are many types of risk assessments and as such, this webinar will focus on environmental risk assessment which is a scientific process to evaluate chemical, environmental and radionuclide stressors following a widely used framework to inform decisions whether the environmental condition poses health risks to human and environment. This webinar provides an overview of how the risk assessment framework can be used to assess the impact of climate change on human and environmental health and how the findings can be used to inform proposed infrastructure or remediation projects. The findings can also be used to develop mitigation measures that can be implemented to increase resilience and adapt to the changing climate.
