Gurjit Sangha appointed ACEC-BC Chair

Water and Wastewater expert honoured as Chair of the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies (ACEC) of British Columbia.

WSP’s Gurjit Sangha, Vice President, Water and Wastewater – Western Canada, Infrastructure, assumed leadership of ACEC-BC as Chair of the board of directors for the 2019/2020 term in June.

ACEC-BC is British Columbia's provincial association of engineering consulting firms. The organization represents 85 of BC's consulting engineering companies that provide engineering and other technology-based intellectual services to the public and private sectors, and are integral contributors to major projects in BC.

 

I’m pleased to take on the role of Chair for ACEC-BC and look forward to working with the Board in 2019/2020. BC remains one of the strongest economies in Canada and is well supported by our engineering profession. There are many important issues that our industry faces including the implementation of the BC Professional Governance Act. ACEC-BC continues to represent our industry's interests as the act is implemented. I look forward to working with the board on this and many other issues affecting consulting engineers in BC.

Since graduating from the University of Calgary, Gurjit has over 20 years of experience working with municipal clients throughout BC. He has been involved with ACEC-BC for the past 10 years and previously served as Chair for the Municipal Liaison Committee.

Having dedicated many years towards advancing sustainable Water and Wastewater infrastructure solutions, Gurjit is passionate about making the world a better place for our future generations. “We need to be cognizant of our social and environmental footprint and I fully support our Future Ready initiative where we consider these elements in how we work.”
