For their work on the Bayview Corridor Project, WSP received the Public Works Project of the Year Award in the Transportation category, $25 million to $75 million division, from the APWA at the 2019 Public Works Expo (PWX) Conference Awards in Seattle, Washington, on September 9th.

WSP was recognized for its role in project management, design and construction management for the Bayview Corridor Project in collaboration with the Regional Municipality of York as the primary agency and Brennan Paving and Construction Ltd. as the contractor.

The scope of the project focused on road widening and constructing structures on Bayview Avenue from Elgin Mills Road to Stouffville Road in Richmond Hill, Ontario. The award acknowledges the collaboration and their cooperative achievements in completing this landmark project.

The APWA Public Works Projects of the Year Awards are presented annually at PWX to recognize outstanding individuals, groups and chapters in public works in five categories including: (1) Structures, (2) Transportation, (3) Environment, (4) Historical Restoration/Preservation, and (5) Disaster or Emergency Construction Repeat.
