Many of WSP’s strengths lie in the diversity, resilience and agility of our people. We have responded quickly to new developments while prioritizing the safety and welfare of our employees, clients, communities and supply chain in our actions.
We have tailored our approach based on provincial and regional guidelines. For our offices that remained open, we enhanced safety and sanitation protocols and implemented appropriate distancing measures to create the safest environment we can for our essential-service staff at this time. Where applicable, we have implemented rotational access to offices to ensure physical distancing.
As we now transition to re-enter our offices, we will follow all governmental guidelines, and continue to focus on personal accountability, physical distancing and sanitation requirements.
Gradual and phased approach
Our plan for office re-entry is to take a progressive, step-by-step approach. The first phase will see an initial select cohort of employees return to designated offices. We will learn and make any adjustments needed to continue keeping our people safe as we proceed through the additional phases.
Physical changes to our offices
To practice physical distancing measures, we are establishing new floorplans, signage and training to empower our employees to work safely. Careful attention and procedures are being implemented for high-use and common areas.
Hand and respiratory protective measures
Offices are being provided enhanced sanitation protocols, with office-focused PPE for all returning staff. High-touch area hand sanitation provisions are in place.
Protocols for social interaction
These protocols build awareness and commitment to personal and mutual common safety. Staff continue to be briefed and supported through training to enable shifting behaviours for social interaction.
Stabilized health status of community
Each office’s readiness is being determined by evaluating guidance from local governments and health authorities. We will flex our re-entry to match the stability of the health of the residents in our local communities where we work and live.

Documents and large-format plans are all available in digital format, and we can share these with you through secured means to continue our collaborative work together.
We remain open for business and invite you to engage your client representative digitally where ever possible. For critical office-based roles, we have enhanced our safety and sanitation protocols in our major offices to create the safest environment we can for our staff at this time. We are asking clients to seek alternatives to face-to-face meetings whenever possible to promote social distancing.
