How collaborative working helped transform an industrial building in Royal Leamington Spa into one of the world’s largest coronavirus diagnostic testing facilities in record time.

The Pan Am / Parapan Am Aquatics Centre and Field House on the University of Toronto’s Scarborough Campus was a key venue for the 2015 Pan Am / Parapan Am Games, with a 6,000-capacity main competition pool. 

The critical timeline was respected in a planning, design and construction inspection project, so the runway could reopen before the start of inclement weather conditions.

Located in Canada’s Banff National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise is surrounded by extraordinary natural beauty. Founded more than a century ago as a home away from home for mountain enthusiasts, the 487-room luxury resort looks out on glorious peaks, the Victoria Glacier and Lake Louise itself. Part of the fabric of British Columbia, Vancouver’s 55,000-seat BC Place Stadium hosts hundreds of events each year, including sports, concerts, trade shows and conventions. The stadium opened in 1983 as Canada’s first domed stadium, covered by the world’s largest air-supported dome roof.

WSP worked with Ashby Capital and Janson Urban to reuse and grow the existing structure which created larger more effective retail and office spaces while reducing carbon emissions from construction. 

WSP is the rail delivery partner for the first high-speed rail system planned for implementation in the US and has developed new railway standards for HSR in the country.
