Steve Rayner is appointed director for the Basingstoke and Godalming building structures teams. A former Equity Partner at Upton McGougan, Steve began his career in engineering at Taylor Woodrow Construction in 1981 and has since designed and project managed iconic projects across the UK and internationally, including the Vauxhall Tower back in the 2000s, Dubai’s Mall of Emirates and the Mirdif City Centre, and the Masdar Infrastructure in Abu Dhabi. A skilled engineer, Steve also invented the precast concrete pile extraction tool whilst working on the Central Reclamation Project in Hong Kong back in 1994.
Steve said: “I am delighted to be joining such a strong and well-established team at WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff and I look forward to continuing my involvement in the tall and complex buildings sector and being involved in the iconic projects of the future both in the UK and internationally.”
Lisa Jenkinson has been appointed associate director in the Birmingham’s landscape team. With 14 years’ experience working on large infrastructure projects across the UK, Lisa joins from LDA Design where she was part of the team responsible for submitting the Development Consent Order (DCO) for the Swansea Bay Tidal Lagoon, which has now been backed by a Government commissioned review.

Brett Little joins the Leeds office as head of pedestrian modelling from his previous role as business development director for pedestrian engineering and major events at PTV Group. Brett has more than 20 years’ experience in transport planning and major career highlights include working for Transport for London on the London 2012 Olympic Games, where he was responsible for modelling the route for spectators from transport hubs to venues as well as wider Olympic operations.
Brett said: “I’m looking forward to expanding WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff’s pedestrian modelling capability across the whole of the UK, as well as internationally. Now, more than ever, public and private sector clients realise the importance of designing buildings and spaces around people. The ability to manage the flow of pedestrians is key to creating a sustainable development. From a single building to a city-wide regeneration strategy, pedestrian modelling can help us design a scheme that is future-proof, and it can also save costly re-workings of designs later on.”
