The firm is a trusted partner of the Council and the extended relationship is due to commence from 1 April 2020, with a new 12-year contract.
Currently, 20 members of WSP’s team are based at the Council’s offices in Lincoln but the scope of work involves employees from across WSP in the UK.
WSP's Lincoln office forms part of the Lincolnshire County Council Technical Services Partnership (TSP), working alongside the county council to develop a wide range of ongoing highways schemes including the Lincoln Eastern Bypass and Grantham Southern Relief Road.
WSP’s role will involve designing new roads, highway improvements and flood alleviation schemes across the county, whilst bringing in expertise from the broader WSP business to support with transport planning, ecology assessments and structures requirements.
Richard Hardesty, WSP Commission Manager for Lincolnshire County Council, said: “We are delighted to continue our appointment with Lincolnshire County Council as their professional design services partner for highways. This new contract will be a true collaboration between us, the Council, Balfour Beatty and Colas and we are thrilled that this successful relationship will continue to develop and benefit communities across Lincolnshire.”
Cllr Richard Davies, executive member for highways, said: "As we continue to invest in infrastructure right across Lincolnshire, it is vital that we have the right partners on board to help achieve our vision for the county's roads. I look forward to continuing to work with WSP and our other partners to deliver highways improvements for our residents."
Lincolnshire County Council’s Highways work is undertaken by three partners: WSP, Balfour Beatty and Colas.
