Standards provide a framework and the ability to manage safety and technical risks in the design, construction and operation of transport infrastructure. There has been an increasing focus on the role of standards to support innovation and efficiencies and our experience shows that most clients encounter similar issues to keep their standards up to date and to manage associated processes to challenge standards. We will share insights into a highly successful strategic consultancy project for National Highways, including drivers for this work, key challenges, the service required, our approach and solutions. The outcome of this work supports design automation and ultimately the digital roads vision for the British highways network.
