Managing safety and security risks can fundamentally support resiliency for our clients. A basic tenant of safety and security it that these risks can’t be transferred from the owner and must be managed to reduce their impact. There are some simple steps to incorporate safety and security into a program which should be considered for any project. Moreover, agencies such as the Federal Transit Administration and Federal Railroad Administration have safety and security requirements during the engineering, construction and testing/pre-revenue phases of a project. It is critical for project managers to be aware of and plan for satisfying these requirements during the pursuit phase and project scoping and delivery.
Please join Lurae Stuart, Transit and Rail Safety and Security practice director, WSP USA, for a discussion of the good business practice of managing safety and security risks in programs and individual projects.
