Bai-San Ceremony For The Excelsior Hotel Redevelopment Project In Hong Kong

On 23 September, a traditional Bai-San Ceremony was held at The Excelsior Hotel Redevelopment Project site which will be home to a new commercial mixed-use development. The redevelopment is expected to last six years.

WSP was appointed as the MEP consultant engineer, vertical transportation consultant and fire engineering consultant for this redevelopment project. Located at a prime waterfront location in the heart of Hong Kong’s commercial district of Causeway Bay, the iconic Excelsior Hotel has stood as a proud landmark for the past 46 years before it was closed in March 2019. 

Ivy Kong, CEO of WSP Asia and other senior management of WSP joined other consultants and distinguished guests for the ceremonial Bai-San event marking the start of construction for this new iconic development at Causeway Bay.
