Ivy Kong, CEO for WSP in Asia and a female engineer in a male-dominated industry, certainly knows about the importance of gender balance across the workplace.
“Throughout my career, I was presented with opportunities to reach out and create positive impact in all dimensions, and these had nothing to do with gender. I believe that a good employee or competent professional is not defined by their gender or ethnicity; instead, each employee is assessed based on the merits of his or her work performance,” says Ivy. “Today, at the helm of a 3,300-strong operation, our colleagues are empowered to create an environment that holds no barriers in advancing in their careers.”
At WSP, we are committed to driving gender balance across our company. We are also the first Professional Services Firm in the Americas to secure sustainability-linked terms for its syndicated credit facility, in which one of the initiative is to increase the percentage of management positions held by women by 2021.
We will continue to stay true to our guiding principles and be proud of our commitment to gender balance, diversity and embrace inclusion at WSP.
We don’t just talk about it, we do it. Together, we can be #EachforEqual
