In Singapore, WSP is the third organisation in the building and construction industry achieving this worldwide BIM standard established in 2019. Keith Anthon, Principal and Head of BIM & Digital Delivery team, said, “We are pleased to have successfully obtained the ISO 19650 standard. WSP is well-positioned to offer more value to our clients and partners, like Land Transport Authority (LTA) and Changi Airport Group, with this certification. This was made possible thanks to the team’s hard work and efforts, as well as support from colleagues across the office.”
The ISO 19650 is an international standard, based on the existing British BIM Level 2 standards, for managing information over the whole life cycle of a built asset using BIM, including strategic planning, initial design, engineering, development, documentation and construction, day-to-day operation, maintenance, refurbishment, repair and end-of-life. It demonstrates an organisation’s ability to work towards the best practices for buildings and civil engineering works.
Globally, WSP Singapore is the second office after WSP UK to have attained this certification. WSP in Australia and New Zealand are expected to achieve the same over the next few months, with the US and Canada offices to follow within the next two years.
