This advanced medical facility is DeltaHealth’s flagship hospital and their first in Shanghai. Located in the Xujing area, the hospital inspires a new standard of general care while specializing in cardiovascular disease diagnosis and treatment. Our client’s main approach was to offer a seamless and integrated patient experience from screening, diagnosis and treatment to rehabilitation and nutrition.
The 52,000 square meter facility provides over 200 beds and its Heart and Vascular Center boasts a state-of-the-art cardiac care unit, a 38-bed intensive care unit, 7 operating rooms, 2 cardiac catheterization laboratories and 2 hybrid operating rooms. Our teams provided project management and design services on the project.
The facility houses the latest medical technologies which required complex and detailed MEP systems. Our experts worked as the independent commissioning certifier to design the systems including electrical, HVAC, plumping and drainage, medical gas, purified water, pneumatic tube structures, nurse call systems and operation theatres.
The client’s brief described a cutting-edge medical facility that conformed to both international (FGI, JCI, HTM, WHO, ASHRAE) and local Chinese design standards, which are not always compatible, such as the sterile core design in the surgery area and electrical systems designed specifically for patient safety. By working closely with the design team, local health bureau, local authorities and hospital experts, we successfully obtained the relevant approvals, making DeltaHealth Hospital the first international tertiary hospital in Mainland China.
