The Kuala Lumpur-Singapore HSR is a strategic project between the Governments of Malaysia and Singapore that aims to enhance business linkages and bring the people of both countries closer together via a modern high-speed rail link with a 90-minute travel time between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore.
“This is a very important project and we are pleased to working alongside MyHSR and LTA to build a world-class high-speed rail network to connect two great nations. Our appointment is a testament of our regional & global expertise, track record and the trust that we have built with our clients over decades of successful project delivery,” said David Tsui, Managing Director WSP in Asia.
WSP, in partnership with Mott MacDonald and EY will join the project teams of MyHSR and LTA in further developing the project, and will provide project management support and technical advice on HSR systems and operations as well as developing the technical and safety standards to be adopted for the project. In addition, the WSP consortium will assist with the preparation of documents for the forthcoming tenders.
This is another important mandate for WSP regarding high-speed rail programs. The firm has successfully completed the Taiwan High-Speed Rail network and several assignments on the Chinese passenger dedicated line, and is currently engaged as the Delivery Partner for the California High-Speed Rail project, as well as the rail systems engineering consultant on the HS2 project in the United Kingdom.
“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to develop a state-of-the-art program for the Malaysia and Singapore governments. It is a great honour to have our program delivery experts from around the world involved in this project, while leveraging our technical excellence in high speed rail, ” said Paul Dollin, Chief Operating Officer.
