WSP Attends the Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony for the Redevelopment of Kwong Wah Hospital Phase 1

Marking the start of construction, WSP’s Project Director Ir Thomas Chan and Project Manager Paul Wong, joined Dr PL Yuen, Hospital Authority’s Senior Manager (Engineering) and other senior officials at the Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony on 19 June 2019.

The redevelopment will modernise Kwong Wah Hospital (KWH) to enhance its operational efficiency, as well as to provide a patient-oriented environment for the delivery of holistic and seamless healthcare services. Upgrades for the hospital includes an 80% expansion of floor area around 270,000 sq.m, and a 30% increase in beds to 1,600. The number of consultation rooms will also increase from 44 to 100.

WSP is serving as the building services, civil, structural and geotechnical engineering consultant. 

Redevelopment of KWH will be constructed in phases with the final phase scheduled for completion in 2025.
