Among these key projects covering commercial, industrial, institutional and infrastructural developments with the total investment reaching RMB 400 million, the 284m-tall Jinqiao One Centre will be one of the most eye-catching landmarks situated in the Jinqiao district, the sub-centre of the development area.
Located in Shanghai's Pudong New Area, the Golden Middle Ring Development Belt is a key initiative of China’s 14th Five-Year Plan to set the country’s development targets in next five years. The 29km-long development belt, with a total area of 107km2 along Middle Ring Road highway, will be leading high-quality commercial and industrial development of Pudong while shaping a green and vibrant community.
On 2 November, Alan Lau, WSP’s Managing Director of Property & Buildings MEP, Mainland China and Jeffrey Tian, our MEP Project Manager, were invited to join the project owner, Shanghai Jinqiao Export Processing Zone Development Co Ltd, and other collaborators at the joint ground-breaking ceremony of the 24 key projects, witnessing the milestone of this project and the entire development area.
With a 46-storeys tower and a four-level podium hosting office, commercial and community facilities, Jinqiao One Centre is set to be an innovative vertical community and a platform for technical, financial and community services development.
WSP will be working with the project architect SOM and the local design institute East China Architectural Design & Research Institute (ECADI) to provide MEP and vertical transportation system solutions from MEP design to project completion stage. Our MEP solution will also be the foundation of the project’s LEED and WELL Gold certifications, realising its sustainability vision.
