Er. Tony Tay, Acting Managing Director for WSP in Singapore, joined the virtual MOU renewal ceremony and roundtable discussion between Global Affairs Canada and Infrastructure Asia on October 8, 2020.
On the renewal of Memorandum of Understanding between Global Affairs Canada and Infrastructure Asia, Er. Tony Tay said, “This a significant and strategic step forward for infrastructure companies, including WSP. This will enable companies like ours to work with investors to deliver more bankable projects and create further opportunities across Asia.”
A roundtable discussion was held after the ceremony, where participants from investment and engineering firms were invited to share insights on market and investment prospects and how the expertise of Canadian infrastructure companies like WSP can be harnessed to deliver on this potential. Er. Tony Tay recognised that the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted infrastructure gaps in the region and discussed how this opens possibilities for Singapore to become a catalyst to promote investment and leverage on Canadian infrastructure companies like WSP.
The virtual signing ceremony was graced by The Honourable Mary Ng, Minister for Small Business, Export Promotion and International Trade of Canada, and Ms. Indranee Rajah S.C., Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, Second Minister for Finance and National Development of Singapore.
