Commissioned by Shanghai Lujiazui Development Co. Ltd., the 535,500-square-foot (50,000-square meter) office building is located on Century Avenue, the main boulevard in Shanghai's Pudong district, the city's modern financial and commercial hub.
The 15-story building was designed as two rectangular office towers connected by an atrium, with a large, 66- by 230-foot (20-meter by 70-meter) cable-supported net wall at each end. One tower is fully occupied by the Shanghai Diamond Exchange Centre which includes an underground vault. The adjacent tower serves the other tenants with grade-A office space. Other amenities include exhibition and retail facilities on the ground and first floors.
WSP provided construction supervision services, which included audit and review of construction drawings; bid and tender coordination; procurement management; permitting support; site inspection throughout the construction stage; and schedule, quality, and safety management.
