Emirates Green Building Council (EmiratesGBC), an independent forum aimed at conserving the environment by strengthening and promoting green building practices, honoured WSP at the 2018 MENA Green Building Awards, a held in Downtown Dubai.
The MENA Green Building Awards recognise innovation, creativity and excellence in promoting best practice in the sustainable built environment and WSP, in partnership with Pascall + Watson and HOK were proud to be awarded this year’s
Sustainable Building Design of the Year for The Yas Bay Arena in their role as Lead Consultant.
Farah Yassine WSP’s Principal Consultant for Sustainable Resource Management said, “The Yas Bay Arena combined high end leisure facilities with notable sustainability measures which is not a combination that is typically seen in the region. The combination of these two key elements warranted the Yas Bay Arena distinction and recognition. I am very proud to be part of the project team and we are thrilled to win this prestigious award”.
Saeed Al Abbar, Chairman of EmiratesGBC, said: “We congratulate the winners of the 2018 MENA Green Building Awards for their commitment and sustained focus on setting new standards in promoting the sustainable built environment. This year, we are hosting the largest awards to date with submissions from across the region, demonstrating a positive shift in the industry with a greater focus on sustainable building practices.”
