What do you do?
I’m an Associate Director in Building Services with a Mechanical Engineering background.
Where are you originally from?
I worked for a Mechanical contractor for 8 years in Brisbane. I then worked for WSP in Brisbane for 3 years.
How long have you been with WSP and in the region?
I have been with WSP for nearly 4 years. I recently moved to Sydney with WSP in January of this year.
What got you into engineering?
I have always enjoyed trying to figure out how things worked. By definition, engineering is the process of solving problems, which I enjoy.
What has been your best accomplishment at work?
Working on the $3.2B (AUD) Queens Wharf development. This was a huge mixed-use multi-discipline project in Australia, which was a once-in-a-life-time opportunity.
What are you most passionate about?
Working through problems as a team and providing ‘out of the box’ ideas.
What is it you do outside of work that you feel most proud of?
Spending time with my family and raising my 2.5-year old son. Raising a family has been the most challenging and rewarding thing I am a part of.
What do you think makes WSP a great place to work?
Team culture has been our strength in WSP Australia. Everyone supports each other to the finish line. Everything is done as a team.
What has been your favorite experience at WSP in the Middle East so far?
Meeting with experts of this region. Their experience working on these amazing projects, with the challenges of the region, is exceptional.
What is your biggest takeaway from your time working in the Middle East office?
The journey of WSP in the Middle East and the types of projects they have completed is a true reflection that WSP can overcome any challenge. This has been very inspiring. Also, I have enjoyed creating global connections. I plan to stay in contact with the leadership team and technical thought leaders to make sure we are sharing knowledge and learning from each other.
