We are delighted to report that WSP Middle East has received five International Safety Awards 2022 (ISA 2022) from the British Safety Council (BSC). The awards are testaments of WSP’s relentless drive to demonstrate high health and safety standards, outstanding control of risk, well-developed occupational health and safety management systems and culture, and very low levels of error, harm and loss.
Lino Yohannan, Senior Health & Safety Manager, WSP Middle East, said: “In 2021, our HSEW team went above and beyond to ensure the safety of our people and stakeholders, especially during the peaks of COVID. These five awards clearly demonstrate our ability to maintain the highest standards of health, safety, and wellbeing across our projects and business amid the many challenges posed by the pandemic. We have been, and we will constantly strive to exceed the standards and achieve excellence in all that we do.”
Mike Robinson, Chief Executive of British Safety Council, said: “The British Safety Council believes that no-one, anywhere in the world, should be injured or made ill through their work all the more important. Winning an International Safety Award requires organisations to show they are investing in their employees’ health, safety and wellbeing and that everyone from the top down makes health and safety a core part of their work and inspires others to do the same.”
Three of our projects received ISA 2022 with Distinction, which denotes their exceptional health, safety and wellbeing (HSW) performance. These are the A4 Primo Residential Tower in UAE, Cairo Street project in Kuwait and Bujairi Carpark in KSA. Two of our projects in Qatar won the ISA 2022 with Merit, and these are 974 Stadium, and Qatar Olympic & Sports Museum.
In addition, our North-East Al Kheesa and Umm Slal projects were awarded the ISA 2022 with Merit for the submissions that were presented to BSC in collaboration with Qatar’s Public Works Authority (Client) and the project contractors, China Railway Construction Corporation and Metito Overseas Limited, respectively.
