The masterplan provides a pedestrian focused environment, by minimising at grade vehicular roads and emphasising pedestrian accessibility and integrated landscaping throughout the site.
When fully completed, the Hub’s 15,000 strong workforce will be part of a community that facilitates idea creation, networking, knowledge sharing and dynamic industry events.
WSP was appointed to provide infrastructure design services for the Master Plan of the mixed use Innovation Hub development.
The centrepiece of the Innovation Hub is a massive cluster of communications and technology facilities. Meanwhile, boutique offices rub shoulders with commercial spaces, retail offerings and hospitality developments in a carefully laid out master plan. Consisting of approximately 1.8 million square feet GFA.
WSP's services initially included engineering input to the masterplan including design of utilities, transport planning, roads, fire and life safety, security and traffic impact studies.
Additional scope was later awarded to carry forward infrastructure design into the detailed design stage and ultimately to construction documentation and site supervision services. WSP were responsible for all infrastructure design services and authority approvals for same.
The development includes a below grade road network which creates a pedestrian focused design integrating surrounding public transport lines, cycle paths and pedestrian desire routes.
Below grade the development includes a dynamically efficient car park layout that created surplus parking bays that can be utilized by surrounding sites.
