Falling on the 15th day of the lunar eighth month (for which this year’s festival will be on 13th September), it is a time for sharing and caring. During this day, families and friends gather, moon cakes are eaten and children play with colourful lanterns.
This year, WSP’s Hong Kong volunteer team celebrated Mid-Autumn Festival with the elderly living in the Aberdeen, Hong Kong. Supporting Aberdeen Kai-Fong Welfare Association (AKA), the team delivered meals and visits the senior citizens with mid-autumn gifts.
Ivy Kong, Managing Director for WSP in Asia who is also an active member of the volunteering team, joined 20 other WSP colleagues last Saturday to participate in this event. “It is heartwarming to see so many smiles on the elderly’s faces. I am so proud of our volunteers, who used their private time and went the extra mile to spread our care to those in need.” say Ivy. “I would also like to take opportunity to wish you, our colleagues, friend and partners, and your family a happy and harmonious Mid-Autumn Festival.”
