Dr Lai presented on the topic Risk Mitigation Measures from Deep Excavation of Service Tunnel in Close Proximity to Gazetted National Monument Building in Singapore, a paper co-authored by WSP Senior Engineer, Qu Hong, and Senior Associate, Tey Kok Liang, as well as Takahashi Takeshi from Penta-Ocean Construction (Singapore). In a similar vein, Dr Lai also chaired a parallel session on Case Studies of Underground Projects.
Presenting on the topic Study of Observational Method for Deep Excavation, Qin Yi shared about the processes and methodology of the Observational Method (OM) and highlighted key insights to the Local Regulatory System and implementation of the Trial Test.
Organised by the Geotechnical Society of Singapore, this conference aims to facilitate discussions and interactions among geotechnical researchers and practicing engineers. The case studies presented at the conference offered valuable insights for the improvement of design know-how and lessons learned for subsequent similar development.
