The Songdo International Business District (IBD) has more than 1,500 acres (600 hectares) of reclaimed land, Songdo IBD, currently about one-third complete, is one of the world's largest private development projects, and it is the first project of its kind in South Korea to incorporate LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) standards of the U.S. Green Building Council.
We provided program management services for the application of LEED standards for the development, including specific buildings intended for LEED certification. In May 2010, the Songdo IBD received its first LEED certification for the Songdo Convensia convention center. In March 2011, the development’s second LEED certification was awarded to the Sheraton Incheon Hotel, followed by certification of Chadwick International School. Other projects being designed for LEED certification include the clubhouse at the Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea, and the Harbor View and Central Park, residential towers.
Under a separate contract, we provided construction management services for key projects, including the Central Park I residential tower; the Chadwick International School; and the 100-acre (40-hectare) Central Park, the centerpiece of the development’s open space plan. We are also providing construction management services for the 68-story North East Asia Trade Tower, which is the centerpiece of the Songdo IBD development.
We have also providing building commissioning and energy analysis services for select projects to help the client meet its requirements for energy efficiency and high-performance buildings.
