Held online due to COVID restrictions, the awards showcase innovative design and construction. Nominees are assessed on their economic and social contribution, sustainability, vision and owner and user satisfaction.
Experts from WSP provided building services engineering for a brand new 54,000sqm building for Fisher and Paykel Healthcare that won the CBRE Industrial Property Award. WSP staff were also involved with Toll Tamaki's Freight Forwarding Facility, judged with excellence in the same category and recently awarded a 4 Green Star rating.
WSP staff supplied structural engineering expertise for Auckland's new 178 metre-high Pacifica Apartments - a project which won the Templeton Group Multi-Unit Residential Property Award. The OKLA apartment complex in Auckland was judged with excellence in the same category, with experts from WSP responsible for aspects of its structural and civil engineering.
WSP was recognised with excellence in its own right in the Warren & Mahoney Civic, Health & Arts Property Award - for the architectural design of the Te Puka O Te Waka / Rakiura Museum. Our engineering services helped propel an entry for the new Grey Base Hospital to excellence in the same category.
Elsewhere, WSP provided heritage conservation and structural engineering consultancy for the Auckland High Court Refurbishment Project, which was judged with merit in the Naylor Love Heritage and Adaptive Reuses Property Award.
Rounding out the honours, WSP staff were involved with the post-quake new build of St Patrick’s Catholic Church – a project which was judged with merit in the Green Building Property Award.
