Akaroa Historic Seawall Repairs, nEW ZEALAND

Svanholm, DENMARK
In Denmark changing weather patterns are leading to more violent storms. Our Centre for Building Preservation in Denmark is leading the restoration of the roof and stabilizing walls at Svanholm, a listed former manor house, to ensure that it can withstand increasing wind pressures during its 100-year lifespan. All elements, including tiles, beams, chimneys and guttering, will be restored using only traditional materials.

Carterton Events Centre, New Zealand
The oldest purpose-built library in NZ currently still in use, constructed in 1881. WSP was responsible for a major retrofit including seismic strengthening, weathertightness and insulation.

Copenhagan City Hall, Denmark

Swiss Life Brannhof. Architecture: SPPA, Visualisation: maaars, Zurich
We are project managing the transformation of this former department store, built in 1912, into a new headquarters and office development. The original wooden windows in the façade will be restored and replaced, with secondary glazing installed inside the building to ensure modern standards of thermal and sound insulation.

Connolly Condos, 98 James Street South, Hamilton, Ontario
A study by WSP’s building sciences team in Canada concluded that adding interior insulation to the mass masonry building would pose no additional risk for freeze thaw masonry deterioration or interior finish damage.
