WSP projects recognized at the CTBUH Annual Awards Symposium

This year, at the CTBUH 15th Annual Awards Symposium saw three Asia projects where WSP served as engineering consultant recognized. 

The event was held on 3 November at the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, USA.

The awards ceremony was organized by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) to recognize projects and individuals that have made extraordinary contributions to the advancement of tall buildings and the urban environment, and that achieve sustainability at the highest and broadest level.

Projects recognized include:

Shanghai Tower: Overall Best Tall Building Worldwide and Winner of the Best Tall Building Asia & Australasia

This is a 632 meter super high rise provides 128 floors of mixed-use facilities and is China’s tallest building.

WSP’s Role: Owner’s Engineer for MEP and vertical transportation system, LEED commissioning authority services

One Shenzhen Bay, China: Finalist of the Urban Habitat Award 

This 360-meter tall, high-rise tower provides 400,000 square meters of mixed-use facilities.

WSP’s Role: MEP and vertical transportation system consulting engineer

South Beach Mixed Development, Singapore: Finalist of the Best Tall Building Asia & Australasia

A mixed-use development with a total GFA of 146,800 sq.m and comprises of two slanting towers (220 meters), hotel and retail facilities.

WSP’s Role: MEP and vertical transportation system consulting engineer
