Nestled in Nanjing Road (West) of Jing’an district, one of Shanghai’s most frequented central business districts and major shopping thoroughfares, HKRI Taikoo Hui offers convenient access to the transport network including the metro.
WSP serves as the MEP consultant and LEED Services consultant for the approximately 500,000 sq. m project, which comprises two Grade A office towers at 170m and 250m respectively, three five-star hotel towers and a luxury shopping mall.
Garrick Sze, Deputy Managing Director, Building MEP, China, said, “In Puxi Shanghai, few developments could rival HKRI Taikoo Hui in terms of scale, diversity and class. The concept of HKRI Taikoo Hui is to transform the neighborhood and create a new business, shopping and entertainment hub in Shanghai where all the high-end brands and restaurants congregate.”
Tower one office was opened in August 2016 while office Tower two and shopping mall were opened in May 2017. The hotel towers are slated to open their doors to the public this November. Towers one and two are currently applying for LEED Platinum whilst the shopping mall is applying for LEED Gold status.
For the hotel towers, measures implemented to ensure that application for LEED Gold will be successful include highly efficient sanitary fixtures with rainwater recycling system that reduce more than 40% potable water use, fresh air rate that surpasses the ASHRAE Standard minimum requirement and boosts comfort, and bicycle storage that promotes zero carbon transportation.
