WSP's Bruce Choi, Managing Director, Korea and Su-Hwan Kim, Project Manager, both attended the groundbreaking ceremony as VIP guests. The event attracted significant interest as it marked one of the highest-profile projects in the metropolitan city of Daegu situated in South of Korea.
Located in Daegu, about 300km from southeast of Seoul, the new Coupang Logistic centre will cover 330,000-sq.m, which is equivalent to the size of 45 soccer fields.
The Coupang logistic centre will serve as the main hub for its plans to inaugurate nationwide logistics system for Rocket Delivery.
This new logistic centre will also adopt artificial intelligence (AI)-powered logistics and delivery system to enhance work efficiency and reduce human workload, by helping workers manage its products conveniently, optimise delivery routes as well as the use of eco-friendly logistics facilities.
WSP has been a strong and reliable partner of Coupang and already served as consultant engineer for other Coupang logistic centres nationwide. Following the construction of its new centre in Daegu, WSP will continue to provide CM service to Coupang’s Gwangju Logistic Centre as well.
