Further to the qualification to practise in Qianhai earlier, WSP has attained the qualification from the Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of Guangdong Province to directly start business and practising in the Greater Bay Area cities.
New measures were introduced in January this year to allow eligible professional consultant firms on the lists of the Consultants Selection Boards managed by the Hong Kong Government to directly provide services in the nine cities of the Greater Bay Area, namely Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Huizhou, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Jiangmen and Zhaoqing (including Qianhai and Hengqin Free Trade Zones). WSP is on multiple lists covering a wide range of architectural and engineering services including building services, structural engineering, civil infrastructure, drainage, sewerage, traffic and transport, to name a few.
This qualification will enable WSP’s direct contributions in shaping these emerging cities into a world-class megacity cluster. With extensive project experience in major mainland Chinese cities, WSP is expected to serve as a strategic partner for clients in the Greater Bay Area by giving new impetus to our extensive multidisciplinary expertise from the region and innovation insights from our global offices.
