The development encompasses state-of-the-art sustainability features, including the first hybrid chilled water system in Singapore, which is expected to generate annual energy savings of 9 million kilowatt hours—equivalent to saving of 1.3 million kilograms of carbon—and the system will save 42 million liters of water. Other sustainable features include the use of efficient air conditioning and mechanical ventilation system; an “Eco Switch” control program that helps to minimize power consumption by controlling the air-conditioning and lighting system; a regenerative drive system for elevators, that in effect utilizes the lift motors to generate power; extensive vertical greening and roof gardens to help insulate against the tropical hot climate; and an integrated centralized paper recycling facility that will recycle the paper waste generated by the development’s occupants.
WSP served as the mechanical, electrical, and architectural lighting design consultant. Under a separate contract, WSP provided civil, structural and mechanical and electrical support services to the design-build contractor, Obayashi Corporation-Woh Hup JV, during the construction stage. The project received the Singapore Building Construction Authority (BCA) Green Mark Platinum Award in 2008.
