The key factor in the design in the Masterplan design was the internalisation of journeys, and the avoidance of unnecessary trips by private vehicles. The HIA aimed to maximise the health opportunities from this design feature, whilst preparing the phasing of the development to avoid the resident population being exposed and disturbed by continual building work and construction sites.
