Designed by Zaha Hadid, Leeza SOHO tower rises as a single volume divided into two halves with the world's tallest atrium in the middle. This twisting 172,800 sq.m mixed-use development sits on top of the metro network and offers luxurious commercial space in its 45-storey towers rising 194m above the city.
WSP’s CS Lam, Director, Building MEP, China Region joined other distinguished guests at the Leeza SOHO Grand Opening Ceremony on 19 November. “As the MEP Consultant Engineer on this cutting-edge development, WSP, provided Future Ready solutions that made Leeza SOHO one of the most environmentally friendly and energy efficient buildings to be constructed in China.” says CS Lam.
The core and shell development of Leeza SOHO was awarded LEED Gold certification by the U.S. Green Building Council. The tower’s double-insulated glass curtain-wall system steps the glazing units on each floor at an angle, allowing ventilating registers to draw outside air through an operable cavity when required; creating extremely efficient environmental control for each floor. Leeza SOHO’s energy management system monitors real-time environmental control and energy efficiency. The tower includes an insulating green roof with photovoltaic array, 2,680 bicycle parking spaces as well as dedicated charging spaces for vehicles.
