With an aggregate of 1,046 service hours contributed by 100 volunteers in 2019/20 period, our Hong Kong Volunteer Team has once again been presented with a Gold Award for Volunteer Service under the Volunteer Movement Program, organised by the Social Welfare Department of HKSAR, this is their eight consecutive wins since 2012. Over the past 12 months, the volunteer team participated in seven community events, extended their care to the seniors, disabilities, ethnic minority, low-income families etc., a total of 184 beneficiaries combined.
In addition to the aforementioned accolades, five outstanding volunteer team members also received individual awards for their service and dedication on the same occasion. Peggy Ng and Debbie Li, both from Administration, were presented with Individual Bronze Award for contributing over 50 hours of volunteer services during the eligible period, whereas Celia Wong (Human Resources), Barry Ho (Sustainable Development and Environment) and Rex Lee (Safety and Quality Assurance) were named Caring Ambassadors.
Ivy Kong, Asia CEO was exceptionally pleased with the achievement. As an active member of the volunteer team herself, Ivy participates in its activities regularly, “We are delighted to be awarded with the 10 Years Plus Caring Company Logo by the HKCSS, not only it has marked an important milestone, but it also means something special to our volunteer team as it celebrated decennial anniversary last year. We wholeheartedly support our employees in their charitable activities and will certainly be rolling out more and exciting events to support the communities in which WSP is very much part of.”
