Held at the Grand Ballroom at JW Marriott South Beach, Ms. Ivy Kong, kicked off the event with an opening address and introduction. This was followed by a presentation and demonstration of the System Dynamics tool by WSP’s team of experts - Mr. Scott Benjamin (Australia); Mr. Dirk van Amelsfort (Sweden); Mr. Steve Kuciemba (USA); Mr. Steven Green (UK) and Ms. Mara Bullock (Canada). A highlight of their presentation was a demonstration of how System Dynamics enables transport practitioners and our experts to collaborate and explore how different factors can shape the behavior and development of transport systems.
System Dynamics is a new interactive tool developed by WSP experts in data and system analysis, transport modelling, and system dynamics modelling to support decision-makers embracing new mobility in cities and places around the world. System Dynamics is the second part of WSP’s Scenario Planning toolbox. The Scenario Planning toolbox, a situational framework that develops alternative future scenarios and formulate potential strategies, was launched last year at the 2018 ITS World Congress and was built off WSP’s 2017 whitepaper on New Mobility.
