Jointly organised by nine professional institutions in Hong Kong since 2002, the biennial Quality Building Award 2020 marks its 10th edition with the theme ‘Transforming Communities ‧ Build with Heart and Care’. This edition celebrates the most leading professionals and projects which have transformed the building industry and community through outstanding quality of buildings with unswerving commitment.

Victoria Dockside
Hong Kong Non-Residential (New Building – Non-Government, Institution of Community): Grand Award
WSP oversaw the design of a seawater cooling system for high-performance chiller plants and supervised fire safety provisions, among other important behind-the-scenes engineering features for this iconic, new cultural-retail complex which reshapes the Tsim Sha Tsui harbourfront.

Hong Kong Non-Residential (New Building – Non-Government, Institution of Community): Merit Award
With Hong Kong’s first Sustainable Tenancy Pledge and innovative building design achieving energy savings of 33% and a reduction of 65% portable water consumption, WSP assisted this pioneering sustainable office development to achieve the Final Platinum rating of Hong Kong local green building assessment tool BEAM Plus.

Hong Kong Residential (Single Building): Merit Award
Forging this unique luxurious residential development, WSP took up the challenge as building services engineer fitting in the extraordinary layouts including duplexes on the top floors, infinity pool in podium floor level and dual entrance design across main roads.

The Mills
Hong Kong Building (Renovation/ Revitalisation): Merit Award
Serving as the BIM consultant for the design and coordination of this landmark revitalisation project, our award-wining experts transformed the former textile factory in 1960s into a design hub celebrating the city’s industrial history. With dedication to heritage preservation, we contributed with careful renovations within the walls of Nan Fung’s original cotton mill.

In addition, our involvement in CUHK Jockey Club Postgraduate Halls 2&3 (building services engineering consultancy) and The Pavilia Bay (civil, structural and MEP engineering consultancy) are named as Finalists under Hong Kong Residential (Multiple Buildings) category.
