The University of Hong Kong Medical School is one of the longest established facilities at the university, and has provided world class education, training and research in all aspects of medicine for more than 100 years.

Located close to the Queen Mary Hospital - a flagship general and teaching hospital - the new Medical Faculty Complex provides state-of-the-art facilities for students, research scientists, and teaching staff. The 10-story facility accommodates various departments with the laboratories designed for flexibility and ease of integration. Each laboratory department is served by an independent building services branch which can be isolated from the central system if necessary. The non-laboratory building houses the Medical Education Unit, the medical library, the Teaching/Convention Center and associated departments. 

WSP was commissioned as the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and drainage consultant. Responsibilities also included specialist design services for the laboratories, which included the Cat 3 Laboratory, cadaver storage, X-ray room, fumigation system, and the waste treatment system.
