In her new position, Ms. Kuchera will lead a multidisciplinary staff of 120 individuals specializing in multi-disciplinary engineering services for the firm’s building engineering practice in California.
The California buildings practice of WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff offers complete services in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and structural engineering; architectural lighting design; building technology; high performance design by Built Ecology; acoustics; commissioning; and building enclosures. The firm’s recent projects in the region include 350 Mission Street; Salesforce Tower; Transbay Transit Center; and 181 Fremont. The firm has four California locations – San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Jose and Oakland.
As a senior vice president and senior electrical engineer with 19 years of service in the firm’s Dallas office, Ms. Kuchera has served as project manager, production coordinator and project designer on a wide range of projects, including healthcare facilities such as the Akron Children’s Hospital Critical Care Tower in Akron, Ohio, and the Benjamin Russell Hospital for Children in Birmingham, Ala. As a studio leader in the Dallas office, she has also led multidisciplinary teams involved in retail, hospitality and office projects. A leading proponent of integrated project delivery and lean construction methods, she has published articles on the subject and has given presentations at the Lean Construction Institute (LCI) annual conference.

A licensed professional engineer in Alabama, California, Nevada, Ohio and Texas, Ms. Kuchera earned a bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering from Kansas State University. Her professional affiliations include the American Society of Healthcare Engineers (ASHE) and the Lean Construction Institute (LCI). She will be based in San Francisco.
